Kaden

About 4 years ago when I first found out that I was pregnant with a boy, I thought to myself....what in the world am I going to do with a boy??? Ok, that sounds bad but what I meant really was that I know nothing about these so-called sports that my wonderful husband loves so dearly, and that boys all love so much. And the rough stuff, wrestling, boxing, getting dirty (ok, I don't mind getting dirty but not so much the other stuff). It is all so foreign to me.....and I have to say now that although I still may not know that much about sports, I know that I love watching my son learn new things. I love that he wants to play every sport imaginable and was thrilled to get him started in his very first official sports league, I didn't want to miss a second of it! It is funny to see how girls and boys are so different....Kaden is constantly trying to get Hadley to play baseball with him and she just looks at him like, I don't have a clue why you want to play this....where's my princesses??!!
So for the past 4 months Kaden has been doing his latest Little Gym class called "mini-jacks". This is basically a class for {boys} to learn all about sports! Kaden has absolutely looooooved it!! They learned about hockey, golf, baseball, tennis, and a little bit of gymnastics. This was the first time Kaden has done a class with out me, and it was so fun to watch him make new friends and branch out to be a bit more independent. There was a time when he was so shy I couldn't pry his hands off my leg, so I am thrilled to know he will probably go to preschool without a fight :-)

Today was his LAST class of mini-jacks (sadly) and they put on a little show for the parents. Each of the boys had a chance to do all of the things they have learned for the past few months on their own. They did a short beam routine (quite funny) complete with brushes, leg kicks, turns and possibly even an arabesque :-). Next was a little bar routine (equally as humorous) and then they showed off all of the sports they learned. Running, catching a "grounder" and throwing it to first. Hitting the ball of the T, putting a ball then finishing off with shooting the hockey puck into the net. They all got a medal at the end and did a big "ta-da". So fun, I will miss it.

Hitting the ball....

Making his shot.....

His adorable class, 13 crazy boys

We also recently finished up with Kaden's first T-ball league!! This was also so much fun, Kaden got a chance to play with a couple of his buddies Parker and Nicholas and he loved it! The first game was the best, none of the kids knew what in the world was going on. Each grounder hit was followed by a 10-child pile up as each of the boys tried to get the ball first. There were kids tackling each other, eating dirt, and who knows what else was going on out there. It was so fun to go and watch Kaden, he was so intense yet couldn't focus on the coach long enough to watch the ball coming to him. Can't wait for soccer! Anyone know of a good league for 3-year old this summer/fall???

Group shot, don't mind that Kaden looks like he was crying and didn't want his picture taken......cause he was.

Winding up for the throw

Kaden's victory dance for making it to first (yes yes, they all make it to first)

After the experience from the first game the coaches got smart and had each child take a turn to catch the ball in the outfield. The other kids waited patiently......

Good Game, Good Game
I love this last picture because it shows Kaden's serious concentration in his effort to make it to home. His tongue sticking out, his arms pumping. Seriously funny

The day of the FINAL game (the one Kaden had been looking forward to all month because it is the one where he would get his trophy) the coach got "sick" and the game was "cancelled". At least that is what I had to tell Kaden because I mistakenly thought the game was at 6:30 when actually it was at 5:30 and I missed the whole stupid thing. I don't think I have ever felt so bad, I almost cried because I knew how excited Kaden was for his last game. Luckily the only thing Kaden really cared about was his trophy and once Parker brought it by all was good with the world. How much longer will my kids be that easy to please?

Catchin UP

We have had a pretty busy month or two....no excuse for my lack of blogging but I figured I would play a little catch-up and post some pictures! My kids are getting so big, especially Payton. It seems that when they are so young a month can hold so many new things, walking (ok, not quite yet) talking (lots of this), new mannerisms, expressions, loves, hates, etc. I'm so thankful to be around to catch nearly all of these things every day :-) I love being a mom, although i do have the occasional fear that I may not be doing enough here, or there (doesn't everyone????) Which reminds me that I did not take any pictures from Mothers Day BUT I did have a great day, I think that was one of the many holidays/events that have passed without me sitting my butt down to document our family via the BLOG. We just took our first trip down to Lake Powell last weekend and I did not get a single picture. It was quite a memorable trip only because the non-stop rain forced us to wear garbage bag poncho's on the boat to keep us from getting soaked on our way back to the boat ramp. We did have a good time but missed the SUN. Hope to see him next time!!!

St.Patty's Day....yes it was over 2 months ago BUT I did take a picture

Easter was fun as always, spending time with our family.

Bubba loves his little sissy, as long as she is not screaming, hitting him, taking his toys, crawling down the stairs (mooooom!!!! Payton's crawling down the staaaaaairs!!!! followed by tears if I don't act quick enough). He's a good big brother, he looks out for Payton.

Parker, Hadley and Kaden at our neighborhood easter-egg hunt.

Kaden loved dying the easter eggs and painting {lovely} pictures all over them.

It was also my Dad's 50TH Birthday last month! We took him to dinner and had a little surprise party set up for him when we got back to their house. I would like to think he was super surprised, he said he was at least. We decorated the house with lovely pictures like these.....

Jordan Look-Alike????
Creepy Mustache Man, we love ya anyways dad!!!!!!

This was our group shot at Market Street
It was also my little brother Tay's birthday this weekend, turned 18! I didn't get any pictures of that, he skipped out early from his Spaghetti Factory birthday dinner to HANG out with his friends (lame) so we sang happy birthday to his empty chair (literally)

Oh, and last but not least.....some big announcements. Dan and Amber are (finally) engaged!!! Wow, that is big news ;-) They are going to be married on August 22nd!

And more great news, my little sister Heidi is also engaged to Sam Watts whom we love and are soooooooo excited!!! They are planning on getting married September 8th! Can't wait!!!

the QUADS are 21!

So it was just a mere 21 years ago that my wonderful brothers and sisters were born....Happy Birthday Greg, Jordan, Heidi and Amy!

(if you ever read this...greg and jordan you are on missions, you have an excuse)

Most of those who know me know I have quadruplets for brothers and sisters! (not to be confused with quadriplegic, there has been a mix-up in the past) I think back 21 or so years ago having quadruplets wasn't so common, because nowadays people are having like 7 or 8 babies at a time octomom style.....but back then the quads were quite the story, even got a little news time ( Baby X 4 they were called) and a documentary video that was actually still seen in childhood development when I was in high school. Kind of funny....

Posted by PicasaThis picture is so cute, from left to right there is Amy, Heidi, Jordan and Greg. I just have to give my parents serious props. I don't think you could fully appreciate what it would be like to have a 5 year old, a 2 year old and 4 babies (with Tay arriving a mere 2 years later) until you have kids of your own! Seriously, I don't know how in the world they did it! Day by day I guess? What else is there!
Well, we had a fun time celebrating their birthdays this weekend! Greg is currently serving a mission in Lima, Peru and Jordan is serving a sign language mission in Rochester, New York. We were sad they weren't here to celebrate, although we may have Jordans mission cell phone number and we may have called and left him a happy birthday message on his phone because he didn't answer....
We can't wait for them to be home June 17th!

She's 1!!!

Well, the day has come and gone...and Payton is officially one! Can't believe it! We had a great time celebrating her birthday and are soooo thankful for all the wonderful people in Payton's life who helped make this such a special day for her.
Payton at 1 year is.....
-28.5 inches long (25%)
-21.1 pounds (50%)
-Has just a baby bit of brown hair, sadly much less than she was born with!
-8 teeth, 4 on top, 4 on bottom
-just learned how to crawl!
-has ZERO interest in walking
-pulls herself up to her knees, not quite to the feet yet!
-says dadda, momma, heidi, ouch, ohhhhh, hi, and nana (banana)
-loves to blow kisses (well, sometimes) and wave hi and bye
-eats EVERYTHING but hates drinking milk :-(
-loves to dance to music
-likes to hold the phone up to her ear and say "hi"
-copies what you do (dance, shake your head, cough or sneeze)
-she is almost always happy!

We love our little Payton soooo much!

We had a little birthday bash on Saturday to celebrate.....

Grandma Sherri and Grandpa Scott with their most favorite (and only) Granddaughter

Payton just sat in the middle of chaos as Kaden ripped open all of her presents for her

What? It's not my party?

Payton wasn't quite sure what to do with her cake so......

she needed a little persuasion

before she finally dug in. Yummmmm

Since Sunday was her actual birthday my mom made her another cake so we could celebrate 1 more time. You only have a first birthday once...right?

And off to bed after a looooong weekend! Love ya Payton!

And on a different note, hasn't the warm(er) weather been fabulous!!!! I have had serious Spring Fever, but I think I got my hopes up too soon because as I write this it may actually be snowing :-( Anyone want to move to St. George? I do!!!! I am sick of the snow! Kaden looooved being able to go outside and "shoot hoops" and play golf. I loved not having him in the house all day!

Love it.

Payton is {almost) One

I have to say that I love having a girl. I can't deny it. I just can't get enough of Payton and her sweet sweet personality! She adds so much to our family and I just can't believe she is turning ONE! So, in honer of little Pay Pay and her first birthday I had the lovely and talented Lindsay Wright take some pictures of her and they turned out adorable! Check her out at lindsaywrightphotography.blogspot.com she does such a good job and is soooo good with kids (and adults too :-) ) She is wonderful!

Linds gave Payton this tulip and Payton just wanted to chew on the end of it the whole time, tulips are edible....right :-)

There are more I will post later when I get the CD from Linds!

Well...

Ugh, I am sick of looking at my blog and reading about the Holidays, this and that so I must write a new post! I feel like Christmas was 5 months ago (although I still seem to be recovering). Kaden's room was about the messiest thing I had ever seen for about 3 weeks while I contemplated where in the world to put all of his junk, aka "toys". I would say to myself "I really need to clean up Kaden's room, no no no, I need more time to really organize." And I did this for 3 weeks straight. Needless to say, I did break down and clean it once it got to the point where I could no longer see the floor, and Kaden resorted to dragging all of his toys out into other areas of the house and told me it was because he had no space in his room to play...too messy. After cleaning out Payton's room I was thrilled to find a piece to our humidifier that had been missing since we moved in! And I am still working on cleaning out the office...which is what brings me to the computer at midnight blogging, I have become overwhelmed with the task! This year I am determined to be more organized, get caught up on my scrapbook, and perhaps even hit the gym more than once every 2 months. I am going to spend more quality time with my kids, and especially James! I love the feeling of starting fresh, the possibilites are endless!

Kaden just loves his little sis so much! The other day I was in the bathroom washing my hands and I could hear Kaden yell "It's gonna explode, hurry we have to get out!" following by giggling from Payton. I come out only to see Kaden dragging Payton along the hardwood floor by her arm, she was on her back. She thought it was the funniest thing. He just wanted to save her, you know from the exploding room???? I just thought it was sweet. Whenever he hears Payton wake up from her naps he immediately rushes into her room and climbs in the crib with her to make sure she isn't sad. She of course, thinks Kaden is the most wonderful thing and always reciprocates the love!!!
